Held annually since 1993, the mission of Connections is to advance and preserve the art, science, and application of wargaming. The conference works each year to facilitate a useful exchange information on achievements, best practices and needs of all elements of the field of wargaming, from military, to commercial, to academic applications.

This session will address the emerging trends in Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR and VR) and will include a LIVE demo. These technologies are poised to change our world in ways that are just now being discovered and Maryland is at the forefront of these massive changes.

VR Starship Design Beta Competition

To highlight the relationship between science fiction and the development of virtual reality, the Museum of Science Fiction & Isovista are holding a VR Starship Design beta competition. This beta competition is open to all students, designers, engineers, builders, and artists. People from the United States and abroad may enter the competition. Starships must be primarily built in a VR modeling tool such as (but not limited to) Gravity Sketch, Oculus Medium, or Google Tiltbrush.
