Amanda Lazar
Dr. Lazar is an Assistant Professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland. She is a member of HCIL and the TRACE center and affiliated with the Department of Computer Science. Her work is supported by the NSF and NIDILRR.
Her research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Health Informatics. Much of her work addresses how technologies designed for health and well-being position and support individuals as they age.
She received her PhD from the University of Washington in the Biomedical and Health Informatics program in 2015, where she was funded by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the National Library of Medicine predoctoral fellowship. After her PhD, she was a postdoctoral researcher with the Technology and Social Behavior program at Northwestern University. She completed my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of California, San Diego.
