This session will cover recently-published and ongoing research from three studies, including: 1) Multimodal displays: Specifically, encoding data into odors (information olfactation) 2) The use of VR data visualization techniques for real-world analytical work among federal economists, statisticians, and data scientists 3) Machine learning and computer vision methods for evaluating user behavior in immersive environments
Andrea Batch is a Ph.D. student at the UMD iSchool and an economist at the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Her work revolves around information visualization, human-computer interaction, immersive environments, and machine learning.
