Jeffery Hampshire

MFA Candidate, Department of Art

Jeffery Hampshire is a multimedia artist based in Silver Spring, Maryland. His work explores how digital tools shape our understanding of place, memory, and the everyday environments we move through. He gathers images, video, and other digital fragments from transitional spaces and uses them to investigate how experiences are recorded, reconstructed, and often left incomplete.

Hampshire works with a range of materials and methods, including digital scanning, 3D modeling, printing, and layered image-making. These processes allow him to examine interpolation, fragmentation, and the gaps between what is captured and what is remembered. His installations and works draw attention to these partial traces, offering abstracted reflections on movement, space, and the mediated nature of memory.

He is also the founder of CADKreations, a mobile education initiative serving the DMV area. CADKreations partners with schools, makerspaces, and community organizations to offer accessible workshops in digital sculpture, 3D modeling, and fabrication. His teaching emphasizes experimentation and expanding access to creative technology, supporting learners as they build confidence with emerging tools.
