Passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development, Sammy has been serving in various relationship building roles over the past ten years at the University of Maryland that have enabled him to pinpoint possibilities for activating all three throughout the campus. With his combined cache of institutional knowledge and his natural inclination for collaboration, Sammy is exceptional at identifying partnership opportunities and sparking collaborations across the university, as well as with external parties ranging from startups to international corporations and community organizations to educational institutions.
Prior to his professional tenure at UMD, Sammy built up his research expertise in the intelligence sector and utilized those skills to found an independent research firm that procured primary source documents for a variety of academic, private, and commercial clients.. A proud Terp, Sammy holds three degrees from his alma mater including an MPS in Technology Entrepreneurship (A. James Clark School of Engineering) and a double degree in Communication (College of Arts & Humanities) and Government & Politics (Behavioral & Social Sciences College).
