While gaming and entertainment have propelled immense growth in the use of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), are these technologies really capable of changing our society? Amitabh Varshney and his team at the Maryland Blended Reality Center believe so, and they're currently working on projects that can literally save lives and transform how we interact with the world around us. Varshney will discuss the use of VR and AR in emergency medicine, both for diagnostic imaging and medical training.
